My grandson was in Cub Scouts (not same den) as your son, so we worked on several pack events together, you, Jeff and I set up the pinewood derby one year in the gym. Also mention to Jeff there is a golf course in Baytown that he hasn't played yet. Double Eagle Creek, a par 3 course in our backyard, 70 - 138 yard shots.
